Draft Documents

Listed below are drafts of the Transport 2040 Outline and first five chapters.

Transportation Vision and Goals

Serve all transportation users by planning, implementing, and maintaining a transportation system that coordinates land use and transportation planning, and promotes a sustainable natural and built environment, robust economy, and equitable mobility opportunities. Please take our Transportation Vision and Goals Questionnaire.

Mobility Zones

The purpose of mobility zones is to encourage a mix of land uses and interconnectivity that allows residents to take shorter trips thereby reducing traveling distance and energy used. Increasing the number of shorter trips also increases the opportunity to substitute walking or biking which in turn would further reduce energy use. Please take our Mobility Zones Questionnaire.

Thoroughfare Priorities

This map indicates what major thoroughfares, intersections, and interchanges should be improved or built over the next 5 years. Please take our Thoroughfare Priorities Questionnaire.

Regional Transit Priorities

This map presents a concept where sub-areas would be served by smaller circulator vehicles which would take people to transit centers.  The transit centers, in turn, would be connected to each other via high capacity express vehicles.  Please take our Regional Transit Priorities Questionnaire.

Bicycle Priorities

This Bicycle Priorities Map categorizes roadways into two tiers: TIER I (red lines) creates a complete network. TIER II (blue lines) builds on to the initial network and creates a more complete system. Please take our Bicycle Priorities Questionnaire.

Pedestrian Priorities

This map shows information on areas with high pedestrian crash rates and potential priorities for improvements in the MPO region. Please take our Pedestrian Facilities Plan Questionnaire.

Trail Priorities

Tier I trail links would provide a basic network throughout the region. Key links include extensions of the Rio Grande trail, the Outfall Channel, and the Acequia Madre. Tier II trail links would provide secondary connections or long-term extensions of Tier I Trails. Please take our Trail System Plan Questionnaire.
